TESDA NC II Renewal for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW)

As an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), you don't need to fly back home or wait until your vacation to keep your credentials active. TESDA provides a direct online renewal pathway designed specifically for OFWs, issuing a digital e-Certificate once approved.

Here is how you can renew your NC II from abroad, along with an alternative option if you need a physical representative.

Option 1: Direct Online Renewal via Email (Recommended for OFWs)

OFWs can submit their renewal application directly to the TESDA Certification Office via email.

1. Document Requirements

Prepare high-resolution scanned copies (in PDF or JPG format) of the following:

• Certificate of Employment (COE): Proof that you have worked for at least 12 cumulative months within the 5-year validity period of your NC II.
  
  
• Verified Employment Contract or Active Work Permit/Visa.
  
  
• Philippine Passport: Scanned copy of the info page, along with your latest Philippine immigration entry/exit stamps.
  
  
• Valid Government-Issued ID (with photo and signature).
  
  
• Accomplished TESDA Application Form: Downloadable from the official TESDA website.
  
  
• 3 Specimen Signatures: Signed in black ink on a plain white paper.
  
  
• ID Photo: High-resolution passport-sized colored photo (plain white background, collared shirt, no glasses).

2. Application Steps

Email Your Application: Send an email with all required attachments to the official TESDA Certification Office inbox:

Include Clear Details: Subject line should follow a clear format (e.g., OFW NC II RENEWAL APPLICATION - [Your Full Name] - [Name of Qualification]).

Await Verification: The Certification Office will verify your existing records in the registry and check your employment history.

Receive Your E-Certificate: Once approved, TESDA will send a verified, downloadable e-Certificate directly to your email. You can print this immediately for visa extensions, employer requirements, or deployment agency updates.

Option 2: Renewal via an Authorized Representative in the PH

If you prefer having a physical copy stamped and claimed directly from the original TESDA issuing office in the Philippines, a family member or representative can handle it for you.
Requirements for Your Representative:

• Special Power of Attorney (SPA): Authorizing your representative to process and claim your TESDA NC II on your behalf.
  
  
• Copies of Your Documents: Your COE, work contract, copy of expired NC II, ID photos, and passport pages.
  
  
• Valid ID of the Representative.

Your representative submits these to the TESDA Provincial/District Office that originally issued your certificate, pays the processing fee (approx. ₱100–₱150), and claims the physical certificate on the scheduled release date.

Important Exceptions to Keep in Mind

Updated Training Regulations (TR): If TESDA updated or revised the official skill standards for your trade while your certificate was active, direct renewal is not allowed. You will be required to undergo re-assessment.

Overseas Assessment Program (OAP): If you do need to retake the assessment because of new regulations, check if TESDA's Overseas Assessment Program is visiting your host country. TESDA frequently conducts on-site practical assessments in key destinations (such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, etc.) so OFWs don't have to fly back.

DFA Apostille / CAV: If your employer or foreign government requires an Apostille stamp on your TESDA certificate, ask your representative to request a Certificate of Authentication and Verification (CAV) from the issuing TESDA regional office before forwarding it to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
